In order to
gain access to the ladder, you can remove the mast from the bracket with
the dish still mounted to the mast. When you replace the mast/dish,
it is not necessary to align the dish again.
When you mount to your RV ladder, remember the ladder is not usually the sturdiest portion of your rig. Wind can create quite a bit of stress on the ladder, so try to mount close to a support that secures the ladder to the RV. You do not want constant movement of the ladder to create a leak in the rig at a mounting screw. I do not recommend traveling with the dish on the ladder. I find it better to mount low enough on the ladder that I can stand on the ground to plumb the mast and aim the dish. In most situations a few feet more elevation will not make a difference. I have included pictures below showing a typical mounting of the Bullseye on a regular folding aluminum ladder. It was easier to get 360 degree views, but the procedure will be the same. In case you are wondering about the rigidity of the bracket and clamping bar, they are made of 1/4" steel plate. |
